How CPT is governed

The Facilitation Group oversees Coober Pedy Together. The constitution and membership policy set out its responsibilities and how members take part.

The Facilitation Group

The constitution approved on 1 April 2025 identifies the Facilitation Group as the association’s committee of management. It oversees CPT’s affairs, funds and property, and appoints a public officer.

The constitution provides for a chairperson, secretary, treasurer and up to seven additional group members. It sets out election terms, meeting procedures and requirements for declaring financial conflicts of interest.

Decisions and the public record

The constitution requires the group to meet at least monthly. Questions are decided by a majority, with a casting vote for the chairperson if votes are equal. Minutes must be recorded and confirmed.

General meetings allow members to participate in the association. Voting rights and the conditions for membership are set out in the constitution and policy.

CPT and delivery partners

CPT’s facilitation and advocacy role is distinct from council’s responsibilities for essential services and infrastructure. A proposal or recommendation from CPT is not, by itself, a delivery commitment from another organisation.

The 2024–28 plan describes CPT before incorporation. Read it alongside the later constitution and the November 2025 statement.
